The Recruitment Co. is currently recruiting for A Warehouse Operative to join our clients team based in the Andover area. Paid Weekly!
Our client is a Global leader in Medical Equipment. The main function of the Warehouse Operative is to receive, store and issue materials, equipment and other items from the stockroom, warehouse or storage yard.
Rate of pay: £11.80ph (has the potential to rise to £12.30ph if you have Counterbalance FLT experience)
Hours of work: DAYS: Mon - Thur 8am - 5pm & Fri 8am - 3.45pm. 41.25 hours per week
Contract: This is a temporary 6 month assignment but could potentially be longer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Initially you will be covering warehouse picking, but ideally will have the ability to learn Goods In and Stock Control, cycle counting and dispatch.
- Receive and count stock items, and record data manually or using a computer.
- Pack and unpack items to be stocked on shelves in stockrooms, warehouses, or storage yards.
- Verify inventory computations by comparing them to physical counts of stock, and investigate discrepancies or adjust errors.
- Store items in an orderly and accessible manner in warehouses, tool rooms, supply rooms, or other areas.
- Mark stock items using identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools, or other labelling equipment.
- Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas in order to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Keep records on the use and/or damage of stock or stock handling equipment.
- Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to supervisors.
- Provide assistance or direction to other stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard workers.
Skills/ experience required:
- With over 4,500 different small part types on site, attention to detail is key for this position.
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Ideally have 2 years experience in a similar role
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Analytical and problem solving ability
- IT literate - desirable
- Counterbalance FLT experience - desirable
- Team player and detail oriented
- Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, or national security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions.
