Manpower are looking for an experience Warehouse Shift Manager to work for our national client based in Tyseley, Birmingham.

What does the role involve?
Our client is consistently growing, taking on new customers daily which has brought in the need to expand their operational team to ensure an effective and efficient operation is always maintained. In the role of Warehouse Shift Manager, it will be your responsibility to oversee the day-to-day activities within their warehouse facility. You will lead a team of dedicated warehouse employees in multiple different customer contracts, fostering a positive work environment while maintaining a focus on efficiency and quality.
Responsibilities
The main responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:
- Be responsible for opening and closing the warehouse site, ensuring security protocols are followed, and the facility is properly maintained.
- Manage and allocate resources efficiently, ensuring maximum productivity and timely order fulfilment.
- Manage all aspects of people processes, including performance management, time and attendance, and personnel development.
- Document and collect charges for customer services, maintaining accurate records and providing transparent billing information.
- Management of both soft (computer-based) and hard (physical) facility management systems to optimise warehouse operations.
- Oversee and coordinate contractors on-site, ensuring they adhere to safety regulations and perform their tasks efficiently.
- Conduct site inductions for new team members and provide training to new employees, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills.
- Utilise your expertise in operating MHE, particularly counterbalance forklifts, to support warehouse operations.
- Be responsible for all customer operations on-site including the management of resources, stock, and inventory as well as any other equipment.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have the following qualities:
- Proven experience in warehouse management position in a busy environment
- Proven experience in leading and managing a team
- Exceptional communication skills
- Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail
- A valid MHE license, with experience operating counterbalance forklifts and other relevant equipment
- A proven ability to keep operational KPI's up to date.

- A flexibility to work outside of the usual 09:00 - 17:00 hours if ever required.
