The Role:
As Warehouse Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of the warehouse team, ensuring that all tasks are completed to a high standard and within deadlines. They motivate, organise and encourage teamwork to achieve performance targets, oversee the stock control and order processing. Ensure quality, delivery objectives are met, manage customer expectations by email and telephone. Keep stock control systems up to date and plan future capacity requirements.You will be a key player in maintaining accurate inventory levels, optimizing space and resources, and ensuring the safe and secure storage of our products.
Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Motivate and coach warehouse team members, provide effective training and support, and delegate tasks to maximize productivity.
- Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory records through cycle counts and system updates, ensure stock levels are optimized to meet demand, and implement stock control procedures.
- The security of the buildings and stock.
- Manage and engage in the picking, packing and distribution activity.
- Warehouse Operations: Oversee the receiving, storage, and dispatch of goods, manage incoming deliveries, and ensure accurate order fulfilment.
- Safety and Security: Implement and enforce health and safety regulations, conduct regular risk assessments, and ensure a safe and secure working environment for all staff.
- Report and escalate to management as needed.
- Performance Monitoring: Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as order accuracy, delivery times, and stock levels, and identify areas for improvement.
- Reporting: Prepare regular reports on warehouse activities and performance, and communicate effectively with management and other departments.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Warehouse Supervisor or in a similar supervisory role.
- Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and coach a team.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Strong decision making and problem-solving skills
- Computer literacy, with proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) preferred and office suite.
- A thorough understanding of health and safety regulations within the UK warehouse environment.
- Forklift truck driving license (FLT) is desirable.
