Hourly rate: GBP11.75 - GBP12.00 per hour
Location: Carlisle, Cumbria
Hours: Monday Friday 8:30am 5:15pm, and occasional Saturdays 8am 12:15pm
NXT is currently seeking a dedicated Warehouse and Trade Counter Assistant to join our client's team on a permanent basis. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to work within a reputable business, serving a well-established and loyal customer base. The Warehouse and Trade Counter Assistant will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of warehouse activities, as well as providing excellent customer service at the Trade Counter. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, reliable, and customer-focused, with a strong work ethic and a willingness to contribute to the success of the team.
Responsibilities will include:

• Receiving, unloading, and storing incoming shipments of products and materials
• Picking, packing, and preparing orders for delivery or collection
• Ensuring accuracy in inventory counts and maintaining organised storage areas
• Performing regular stock checks and assisting with inventory management
• Greeting customers in a friendly and professional manner at the Trade Counter
• Assisting customers with product enquiries, orders, and returns
• Processing sales transactions accurately and efficiently using the POS system
• Providing product recommendations and advice to customers as needed
• Responding promptly and courteously to customer enquiries via phone, email, and in person
• Building and maintaining positive relationships with customers to promote repeat business and customer loyalty
• Maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in the warehouse and Trade Counter areas
• Reporting any safety hazards or incidents to management promptly
• Working collaboratively with colleagues across different departments to achieve common goals
• Supporting other team members as needed during busy periods or special projects

Skills and Experience:

• Previous experience in a warehouse or retail environment preferred
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in completing tasks
• Basic IT skills required
• UK driving license is required, as you will be using the company vehicle to transport goods
