Astutes Power Team are working exclusively with a leading waste to energy company on a brand-new Engineering position working on one of their newest Energy from Waste plants.
As Warranty & Performance Engineer you’ll be involved with overseeing the management of the Warranty of the plant after handover, liaising with the EPC contractor to manage the resolution of any defects, this role will also be involved with plant performance activities to maximise profits for the business.
This position is both open to candidates who wish to be employed as a contract (IR35 pending) or fixed term contract.
Responsibilities and duties:
As the Warranty & Performance Engineer you will be:
* Acting as lead contact for all defects through identifying, logging, issuing & tracking through relevant channels.
* Dealing with claims from the client relating to plant equipment failures
* Investigating the claim and ensuring it is valid according to the contract then dealing with this claim appropriately by proposing a solution and carrying this out
* Monitoring & analysing plant performance, availability and reliability and making recommendations to improve all aspects.
* Produce in depth technical reports relating to defects & Performance testing.
* Taking part in onsite inspections and investigations
* Liaising with various stakeholders e.g. client, EPC contractors, consultants, local authorities, regulatory bodies etc.
* Identify any opportunities of improvement across mechanical, electrical & C&I plant upgrades.
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
* A relevant engineering qualification at degree/HND level, preferably in a mechanical discipline. HNC level will be considered along with extensive experience
* At least five years of industry experience in the power generation sector
* Experience in the Warranty phase of a new build Energy from Waste / Biomass plant.
Personal skills
The Warranty & Performance Engineer role would suit someone who is:
* Familiar with RCA (Root Cause Analysis) and other engineering methodologies.
* Data analysis / plant performance analysis driven.
* Good communication and negotiation skills
* A full UK driving licence is required for this role as it involves regular travel to other sites
* Client / Customer / Stakeholder relationship experience
