This is a unique opportunity for a dynamic and motivated Chemical or Mechanical Engineering graduate to work in CEMCOR LTD (based in Cookstown, Co. Tyrone) on a 24-month collaborative project with the School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Queen’s.

The successful candidate will become part of a team within CEMCOR LTD. CEMCOR is a leading manufacturer and supplier of high quality bagged, bulk and specialist cement products used in the UK and Irish construction industry. CEMCOR focuses on creating cement using the raw materials mined at their local limestone and shale quarries. They also have an import/export facility in Belfast Harbour.

Current business objectives include continuing to produce a high-quality cement at reduced carbon and energy emissions, increasing our electrical and thermal energy efficiency, whilst maintaining optimum throughput. CEMCOR continues to place sustainability at the forefront of plant investment; this can be seen through recent investment of £6 million industry leading upgrades such as the installation of a bag filter and dust particulate system installed reducing environmental emissions, allowing the dust created to be reused later in the cement manufacturing process ensuring that no material waste is created.
