Position:Water Hygiene Tank Technician
Salary: £30,611.00
Location: South East/London
Shift Pattern: Days

About the Role:

The Water Hygiene Tank Technician plays a pivotal role in delivering a high-quality national Water Hygiene service, ensuring statutory responsibilities are met and safe working environments are maintained for employees, clients, and the public.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represents the profession professionally and fosters strong relationships with colleagues.
  • Attends training sessions to stay abreast of technical developments and maintain quality standards.
  • Prioritises health and safety while performing job-related tasks, maintaining a professional demeanor.
  • Adheres to industry policies and processes, completing all required documentation accurately and efficiently.

Technician Responsibilities:

  • Ensures the health and safety of all individuals while carrying out tasks.
  • Inspects cold water storage tanks, calorifiers, and TMVs.
  • Samples hot and cold water systems appropriately.
  • Cleans and chlorinates hot and cold water systems, following safety protocols.
  • Reports any non-compliance with water regulations and carries out remedial work as necessary.
  • Communicates effectively with line management, providing regular updates on job progress.

Personal Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrates flexibility regarding national and regional travel, including overnight stays when necessary.
  • Maintains personal fitness to perform tasks such as climbing ladders and working in confined spaces.
  • Presents a smart appearance and upholds uniform standards.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Experience in legionella awareness, tank inspections, water sampling, and clean and chlorination of water systems.
  • Proficient IT skills and excellent communication abilities.
  • Plans and executes PPM store visits efficiently within agreed timescales.
