Job description

Ecologia, a member of the RSK Group, have an exciting opportunity for a Water treatment/Remediation Engineer to join our busy and growing team based in Sittingbourne, UK.

Ecologia is a specialist in contaminated land remediation and wasteWater Treatment contracting and consultancy delivering projects across the UK and Globally.

The Role:

The role will involve a combination of workshop and site-based tasks to deliver end-to-end Water Treatment and remediation systems. In particular, the successful candidate will support our remediation team with design, installation, and operation & maintenance of our treatment plants.

As a member of the Remediation team, you will be supported and trained by principal engineers and project managers to ensure you develop the necessary skills to assist with project deliverables and progress your career with Ecologia.

The work involves an interesting mix of office/workshop and site-based activities and requires an adaptable approach to assist with, sometimes, urgent response situations.

Duties will include:

  • Testing and maintenance of Ecologia’s standardized treatment units and equipment before deployment on site and for long term storage when returning from site.
  • Fabrication, installation, and O&M of bespoke treatment units.
  • Assist with the procurement, supervision and liaison of suppliers and contractors involved in the installation of remediation systems.
  • Undertake site inspections to assess/monitor system performance.
  • Monitoring and collating data from in-situ treatment plants.

We will generally expect the successful candidate to:

  • be qualified to degree level in an engineering related subject; however, work-based experience or other technical qualification will also be accepted.
  • Of foremost importance to have a flexible, positive and proactive attitude to work.
  • Have a good working knowledge of standard Office 365 Microsoft packages.
  • Candidates with 2+ years’ experience ideal, however, open to graduate applications

Candidates with CSCS card are encouraged to apply albeit the company will provide the necessary training.

The ability to work as an effective member of a team and on your own initiative will be essential, along with excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.

The job will require a willingness work on site and to travel across the South East and beyond; a full UK/EC driving licence is essential.

Salary and benefits:

  • Salary up to £30,000, dependent on experience
