Elevation Engineering & Manufacturing’s Skilled Shop Floor Team have been exclusively retained to manage a recruitment campaign for our client, Orchid Orthopedic, based in the heart of Sheffield’s manufacturing community.
Orchid Orthopedic Solutions is a worldwide leader in design and manufacturing for the orthopedic and medical device markets, including joint reconstruction, spine, trauma, sports medicine, extremities and dental. With 10 world-class facilities located around the globe, Orchid continues to provide others an opportunity to live longer, more active lives through their products and services.

Their Sheffield facility, based off the Sheffield Parkway, comprises a Forge, Foundry, and CNC Machining and Finishing processes. It employs approximately 300 people and focuses on joint reconstruction, in particular knee and hip joints.

They currently have a Wax Operator available. Although experience in these areas would be an advantage, they are also looking for enthusiastic individuals from other industries who may have transferrable skills relevant to the role.

They are looking for individuals with experience or a desire to work in the following role;

Wax Operator 

Working hours: 3 shifts

Week 1 – Monday – Thursday 6am - 2pm

Week 2 – Monday – Friday 2pm- 10pm 
Week 3 - Monday - Friday 10pm- 6am

Hourly Rate: £11.33 -£11.96 + 17% shift allowance on night shifts

Overview of the role of a Wax Operator :

• Using small handheld tools to remove excess wax off the castings 
• Working with high precision, small intricate parts
• Adherence to health & safety standards
• Responsible for own workflow and hitting kpi’s
• Strong emphasis on quality

Requirements for a Wax Operator:

• Must have a keen eye for detail
• Must be happy to do repetitive work
