Job Title: Web and Application Developer

Contract: 3 months (Hybrid/Remote)
We have an exciting opportunity to join a highly collaborative IT department based in Surrey. As a Web and Application Developer, you will be placed in the Student Administration Systems team working with colleagues to provide second-line support and to participate in cyclical processes that enable the delivery of the student journey and the development of functionality to support a wide range of University services and activities
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the team to implement and deploy scalable, cost-effective solutions using web-based technologies, ensuring tasks are completed within defined timescales.
- Work through the application lifecycle from requirements gathering to designing, developing, testing, implementing, and supporting applications, web services, and integrations.
- Deliver analysis, design, development, implementation, and support of applications for academic and administrative functions.
- Design elegant and efficient user experiences accessible across multiple devices while adhering to brand guidelines.
- Assist in breaking down work items into tasks, providing estimates, and participating in backlog grooming and sprint planning ceremonies.
- Support the transition of solutions into production by applying robust testing disciplines and effective configuration management within a Service Delivery ITIL framework.
- Deliver work requests, enhancements, and new functionality related to Digital Delivery within the agreed system of IT governance and approval.
Requirements:
- Experience as a React web developer with knowledge of responsive design and REST API development.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to provide timely progress updates.
- Ability to work effectively within a team and contribute to collaborative projects.
- Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality solutions.
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (preferred).
