Job description

ABOUT US
The Woodland Trust is the UK’s largest woodland conservation charity. We want to see a world where woods and trees thrive for people and nature. The Trust engages and inspires people to take a stand and work to tackle the nature and climate crisis – helping to protect, restore and create vital woods and trees.

THE ROLE
Sitting within our Brand and Communications department, you'll play a pivotal role in managing our website's content to amplify its reach and foster meaningful engagement with our target audience. This strategic approach will ultimately drive targeted support and action, aligning with our content strategy.

THE CANDIDATE
As web manager, you’ll need to have a passion for all things digital, with several years’ experience of managing websites and working with content management systems to create, maintain and manage digital content. You’ll need to be skilled in using data analytics and reporting tools (including Google Analytics 4), and the experience to advise team members on how to improve the performance of their content. You’ll have knowledge of content strategy, SEO techniques and keyword research, as well as web accessibility standards and best practice.

Positive and results focused, you’ll be responsible for liaising with and advising key business areas within the Trust, so you’ll need a highly collaborative approach and excellent communication skills.

This is a hybrid working role, where you’ll work part of your time at home and part of the time from our head office based in Grantham, Lincolnshire. Our hybrid working policy is flexible, and the frequency of time spent in your contracted office will vary across teams and job roles.

WHAT TO EXPECT BY JOINING THE TEAM AND MAKING A DIFFERENCE
There’s no other organisation like the Woodland Trust. By joining the team you will be playing a vital role in tackling the nature and climate crisis. In return, we recognise and value our people. You'll have our full support, training, and opportunities for professional development, along with a contributory pension, life assurance, good holiday allowance and the opportunity to work flexibly from home.

OUR COMMITMENT TO DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION
At the Woodland Trust, we want to reflect and represent the full richness of diversity in the UK. Fewer of our employees are Black, Asian or minority ethnic; disabled; from lower socio-economic backgrounds or under 25; so we are particularly keen to receive your application if you are from one or more of these groups. We can also discuss anything you may need to achieve your full potential at any stage of the process. We assess your application solely on your demonstrated suitability for the job. Nothing else.

We reserve the right to close this vacancy early if we receive a high volume of suitable applications. If you are interested, we'd encourage you to submit your application as early as possible.
