We have an exciting opportunity for a Welcome Host to join our team at Cambridge Station. Please note that this is a relief position.
The Role
The purpose of this role is to provide a safe environment whilst delivering excellent customer service and seeking opportunities to enhance customer experience at our station.
Creating a welcoming environment whilst providing pro-active assistance to our customers on and off trains is important in this role.
Your responsibilities include all matters regarding to safety, security, cash regulations and maintenance of the ticket machines. You will be responsible for carrying out winter precautions as per station arrangements. Responsible for maintaining security.
This role also involves station cleaning in order to uphold the appearance of our station and security checks as part of the station security plans (SSP) (dependent on the station there are varying levels of security checks – from every 30 minutes to twice a day- looking for left items, waste bins being secure, and doors being shut and / or locked etc)
This position will require you to work a combination of earlies starts, late finishes, and weekends. Earliest shift time is from 0700am, and latest shift finishes by 2100pm. The suitable candidate must be able to get to the early shifts by own means of transport. The role entails an average of 35 hours per week.

Effective customer service and interpersonal skills are crucial for this role. This role will require you to remain calm under pressure whilst maintaining integrity at all times. You must be flexible (in your working hours).
