GMP Recruitment are proud to be partnered with a highly successful engineering company located in Worcester. We are currently supporting their recruitment for a MIG and TIG Welder to join their team on full time, permanent contract.
Our client is a lead provider of the windows and doors sector predominantly working with the fixtures and fittings being supplied to the engineering services sector across a wide scope of industries.
The working week for this role is as follows: Monday - Friday 08:00am -17:00pm
The successful candidate will be offered an hourly rate of up to £14 per hour which is dependent on relevant experience.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate previous Welding and Fabrication experience preferably working within an engineering or manufacturing business.
Duties and responsibilities will include:
* Welding pre cut parts 4-10mm.
* Stainless and mild steel welds.
* Fabricate, weld, and assemble metal components according to specifications.
* Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and welding symbols.
* Operate hand tools and power tools to cut, shape, and smooth metal.
* Perform stick welding and other welding techniques to join metal parts.
* Inspect finished products for quality and accuracy.
* Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment.
Required skills and experience:
* Minimum of 1 years of experience in fabricating and welding
* Proficient in stick welding and other welding techniques
* Ability to read blueprints and interpret welding symbols
* Basic math skills for measuring, cutting, and calculating dimensions
* Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication techniques
* Familiarity with hand tools and power tools used in metal fabrication
* Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and repair equipment
* Ability to set welding equipment & manually apply weld accurately to fabricated joints.
* Able to work with Mild Steel and Stainless Steel
* Ability to work on their own initiative and be a confident decision maker.
* Can work on your own or part of a team on bespoke projects.
* Must be well organised with experience of working to targets/deadlines
