Welding And Engineering Project Service Engineer

Welding and Engineering Regional Service Manager, Monday to Friday, 7.30am - 5pm

Reporting to the Regional Manager, the welding & Engineering Project Service Engineer will work with and alongside the project and region to deliver welding & engineering equipment in line with the mission and strategic plan to grow welding technology solutions. 

Working from Hinkley Point C in Somerset you will lead and support the day-to-day service delivery of Welding and welding associated products on the project. You will be responsible for the upkeep of current assets on site, delivering the agreed service levels, and building key relationships on site by delivering a first-class service to our customers.  You will police and uphold process and technical compliance, whilst offering support to our customers and aid in the development of our service proposition to the project. This is a diverse and varied role that will require a hands on approach to ensure we exceed our customers' expectations.

Outline of key responsibilities:

• Working from an onsite location and represent Speedy onsite as first response for Welding and welding associated matters
• Undertaking maintenance, calibration and routine servicing of welding equipment
• Troubleshooting known and unknown issues related to breakdowns
• Building and maintaining a strong relationship with clients
• Maintaining a high level of health and safety at all times
• Being up to date on knowledge and understanding of all relevant compliance and regulatory rules and procedures that relate to welding & engineering equipment
• Staying fully conversant with the latest welding technology, in particular our partner brands like Kemppi, Lincoln, Binzel, ESAB etc
• Managing the workflow of the project to meet current demand and future pipeline
• Making well informed decisions on the repair and maintenance of the welding & engineering fleet for the project
• Arranging service visits directly with clients and their staff.
• Produce electronic examination reports in a professional manner with high quality standards.
• Passing on expertise, knowledge, and good working practices to other personnel in the business to support the growth of the project.
• Demonstrating the right behaviours and ability to adapt and encourage others to face new challenges and embrace the changes required to meet the strategic objectives of Speedy

In order for us to help you achieve success in this role, these are a few key elements you'll need to have for us to build on

• The ideal candidate will hold a recognised academic qualification in an electrical engineering discipline which should be at least HNC, HND, NVQ 4 or equivalent level. 
• You will also have gained a relevant level of practical experience in a related Welding and Engineering field, which should ideally be a recognised apprenticeship alongside direct relevant engineering & welding equipment hire experience
• Self motivated, demonstrates good organisational skills and a willingness to support and help resolve situations in a positive and professional manner
• Can demonstrate experience and skill in building and maintaining relationships with customers and colleagues at multiple levels within an organisation to deliver mutually beneficial outcomes
