Welding Engineer
Job location: Warrington
Belcan workforce solutions is looking for a Welding Engineer. This opportunity is vital to our client’s growth strategy of providing high quality engineering and project services to their end user clients. The role is on a Permanent basis based at their site in Warrington.
As a Welding Engineer you will be responsible to ensure that quality control and welding and fabrication systems are established, communicated, applied and remain effective to provide ‘right first time’ products and services to satisfy business and customer expectations, ensuring quality, reliability and performance standards are maintained.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide welding technical advice and assurance to client work sites undertaking welding/fabrication work scopes
- Document owner for all welding and fabrication procedures within the BMS system
- Development of WPQR & WPS documentation including third party approval where required
- Main point of contact with certification / professional bodies in relation to welding activities
- Main point of technical contact and support for site based Welding Inspectors
- Shall be the appointed Responsible Welding Co-ordinator (RWC) under standards such as EN1090 and EN3834 requirements
- Provide and maintain all welding and qualification registers
- Responsible for welder qualification including the welder prolongation process for all applicable client work sites
- Interpretation of quality requirements specified in customer and external documentation/contracts relating to welding and fabrication scopes of work
- Implementation of digital welding software (ESAB WeldCloud Notes System).
- Provision of support to the commercial tendering and bid process in relation to welding and fabrication scopes of work.
- Support FAT’s and other associated quality control processes.
Experience & Qualifications
- 7 years experience in qualified Welding Engineer position
- 7 years experience in Process, Power or Oil and Gas Industry
- Experience in quality control management, inspection and auditing
- IT literacy, innovation and pragmatism
- Qualified Welding Engineer (IIW/IWE/MSc or EWF/IWS)
- Degree educated or other equivalent recognised quality qualification
- Recognised Auditor Qualification
- Weld Inspection qualification ( Desirable)
