The Welding Engineer will report directly to the Quality Manager and be responsible for the effective implementation of the companies welding needs. They will also be a functional responsibility to the Works Manager and Engineering Manager for the day-to-day welding matters.
Main Responsibilities:
Create and maintain weld procedures.
Organise weld procedure and welding qualifications.
Qualification of new welders to new and existing weld procedures.
Maintain welder qualification prolongation.
Create and review Weld Maps.
Select appropriate weld procedures for production.
Liaise directly with the client and internal departments with regards to Welding Engineering requirements.
Ensure that all allocated work scopes are fully compliant with the ISO 3834-2 standard.
Qualifications & Experience:
Essential:
A minimum of 5 years experience as a Welding Engineer, preferably in a pressure equipment, manufacturing environment.
Qualified IWE (International Welding Engineer) or EWE (European Welding Engineer) with a plan to attain IWE.
Experience of working with BS EN ISO 15614-1 and ISO 3834-2 standards.
Computer literate in Microsoft Office 365.
