Job Designation
The Welding Engineer provides a range of expertise, supporting the Welding Manufacturing capabilities. Contributes to improving a range of fabrication processes that directly impact the sustaining and growth efforts of operation. Participates in the introduction of new projects for the Welding process in manufacturing and supply chain environment. Subject matter expert for the welder performance and welding procedure qualification software. Appointed as a Welding Engineer under the organization’s ASME
Job Core Responsibilities
- Prepares welding documentation for the sales and bidding process
- Manages welder qualifications to code and customer requirements
Provides knowledge and expertise on the application of processes and developing welding parameters
- Works with Engineering to develop and establish new welding processes
- Works within standardised procedures and practices to achieve objectives, ensuring deadlines are met.
Job Specifications
Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent engineering experience and Welding Specialist Diploma (TWI or IIW/EWF)
Years Experience: 3-5 years of experience in the qualification of welders and welding procedures against the requirements of ASME Section IX (preferred), or ISO 9606 and ISO 15614 and preparation and approval of the associated records.
