SANZA Teaching Agency are currently supporting a lovely mainstream 2-form entry primary school in Harrow.
They are currently looking for someone to work mornings in their on- site special needs provision and afternoons as the welfare assistant!
The role is to start at the end of January, with the potential for this to start earlier for the right candidate.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The role is to be split between 2 areas of the school. The morning will be spent working as a teaching assistant in the school's on-site alternative resource provision for students ranging from reception to year 6 with a diagnosis of Autism. This will involve 1:1 work, as well as supporting students in small groups.
The afternoon will be spent as the welfare assistant, helping out in the welfare room. Duties and responsibilities will include: assessing and administering first aid for minor injuries or sickness, liaise with teachers/parents/carers of pupils who are unwell, administer any agreed medicines in accordance with Government, School and Local Authority policy, caring for sick or injured pupils, looking after and supervising, pupils in the welfare room.
ABOUT YOU
The ideal candidate
- Must be proactive and able to use initiative
- Would ideally have experience working with special needs
- Have an understanding of positively support students with Autism
- Be able to build positive relationships
- Genuinely care about supporting teaching, learning and young people with special needs
- Be kind and empathetic and able to administer first aid and care for sick students
