Wellbeing Coordinator

£20,300

Edgware

To support the management team of the extra care service in the effective day to day operations of the service. Including daily administrative tasks, support the invoicing of the care, providing a professional representation to contracts officers and other professions and to positively promote customer wellbeing within the service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Day to day administration tasks to support the manager of the service.
  • Answering the phone professionally
  • Responding to the front door and managing visitors to the building
  • Typing up care & Support plans
  • Maintaining the information in key service files i.e. H&S, Safeguarding and key policy updates.
  • Taking & Typing up of minutes of meetings with customers and other stakeholders
  • Supporting the care team with administrative tasks that aid the wellbeing of the customers i.e. booking GP appointments, hospital transport, planning and arranging events and activities for residents.
  • Liaising with other stakeholders and effectively communicating with key partners to support the customer’s wellbeing i.e., local pharmacist and hospital transport coordinators.
  • Develop effective links within the local community to provide a regular activity program of activities for the customers to attend and reduce their social isolation, by bring activities into the service.
  • Consult with customers on what activities they would like and plan to deliver a diverse program to meet everyone’s needs
  • Gain feedback from customers in relation to the activities to support continuous improvement.
  • Support customers with their shopping schedule, escorting them to bank, shops if necessary
  • The recording, monitoring, and invoicing of the customers care hours and the completion of any returns that the local Authority requires with support from the manager.
  • Keep databases with service, customer and colleague information up to date in line with Metropolitan’s policies.

Personal Competencies

  • Able to work flexibly. The work pattern will be irregular, and will be on a rota basis including unsocial hours, weekends and public holidays
  • Empathetic and able to support customers with dignity
  • Able to contribute positively to the team
  • Availability for working unsocial hours, weekends and public holidays

Skills/Experience

  • Experience of providing support to vulnerable people (voluntary experience also qualifies)
  • Understanding of the difficulties faced by vulnerable people with care and support needs
  • Understanding of the Service User group
  • Knowledge of health & safety issues relating to care and support of vulnerable people
  • Ability to work flexibly to meet Service User and service requirements
  • Ability to undertake moving and handling tasks (including pushing of wheelchairs, assistance with supporting service users)
  • Basic IT Literacy

  • To comply with MTVH’s Health and Safety policies, procedures and processes and to promote health and safety compliance for all.
