Job description

Cammach are working with a large independent O&G Operator based in Aberdeen to recruit for Wells / Decommissioning Project Cost Consultant. It s a limited Company Contract / long term. Hybrid working opportunities available.

ROLE

This role will be the primary focal point for all cost engineering, control and estimating elements of the project reporting directly to the Decommissioning Project Services Manager. The contract duration will be until 31/12/24 with Extension

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Focal point for all cost control matters.
  • Responsible for the coordination and oversight of all cost management, cost reporting and cost analysis for designated ABEX Projects.
  • Responsible for estimating deliverables on designated ABEX projects as and when required to support the assurance process or other key requirements.
  • Provide cost engineering and estimating support and cover to other ABEX Projects as required.
  • Compile project budgets, support Corporate and Joint Venture budgeting requirements and prepare project financial approvals (AFE s) as and when required
  • Track, monitor and accurately report project commitments, value of work done (VOWD) and forecast costs in line with Decommissioning Work Breakdown Structure.
  • Provide accurate monthly reporting and input into overall project and wider business reporting cycles.
  • Duties will consist of recording of commitments within the appropriate Cost system and monitoring expenditure against the commitment, ensuring commitments and invoices are correctly coded, adequate funding is always in place and forecast costs are properly calculated and managed.
  • Liaise with job responsible engineers and workstream leads (including Site personnel) on cost related matters such as progress, milestones, variations on a contract by contract or well by well basis.
  • Interface with Well Delivery function and integrate key data into overall project reporting.
  • Liaise closely with Finance team to ensure accurate and consistent reporting of VOWD and forecasts.
  • The preparation of monthly Cost Reports, which includes the following;-
  • Ensure all Commitments and invoices have been recorded
  • Ensure Value of Work is re-evaluated based on most current data.
  • Interrogate data received from other team members.
  • Re-forecast estimate to complete/Forecast Final Costs and identify any area of concerns such as budget overruns, work/delivery slippages etc. which may impinge upon other cost areas.
  • Ensure Forecast expenditure phasing is aligned to current plan and also reflects data received from other discussions held with project team members.
  • Conduct trending analysis and generate additional graphical reports when required.
    • Take part in Project Monthly Performance reviews as required, both internally and externally.
    • Liaise directly with JV Partners to maintain established working relationship and ensure timely delivery of agreed reporting deliverables.
    • Provide input to and support Project Services Manager with monthly progress reporting deliverables.
    • Take an active role in the Management of Change process to ensure all project change is managed appropriately and there is consistency across all ABEX projects.
