AddressAs one of the UKs leading manufacturers of GRP boats, we have seen a significant increase in demand for our boats and we are looking for an experienced Wet Lay Laminator to join our team and work on various projects, with an immediate start.
As a Wet Lay Laminator, you will be responsible for:
- Preparing moulds, preparing & executing gel coating
- Laying down e-glass, gluing core & fitting structural elements
- Reading & interpreting drawing specifications, ensuring quality standards are met
- Be able to use core materials, generic bonding pastes, wide range of fabrics, CSM and cloths in dry and pre-preg formats
- Performing Wet Lay-up of fibreglass and resi
- Trimming, finishing, ability to gelcoat repair is a bonus, sanding, polishing & other finishing skills
- Working safely and efficiently in a team environment with good housekeeping practices
- Correct use of PPE
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- At least 2 years of experience as a Wet Lay Laminator in the marine, aerospace, automotive or similar industry
- A good understanding of Wet Lay laminating processes and materials
- A high level of attention to detail and accuracy
- A positive attitude and a willingness to learn new skills
- A valid UK driving licence would be preferrable
- Carpentry, joinery, electrical & mechanical skills would be an advantage but is not a requirement
Job Type:
- Full time hours
- 40 hours a week working Mon to Fri between 8am – 5pm
- There may be the requirement to work late or weekends to get tasks completed or meet deadlines
- Working in a modern purpose built factory with a range of power tools & modern equipment, plant & machinery
