The role
We are looking to hire a Picture Desk Intern to join our Content team in London on a 3 month basis.

Role overview
In this exciting position, you'll be at the forefront of empowering WGSN's global content by supporting and collaborating closely with the Picture Editor and Image Rights Manager, managing all picture usage and ensuring the best possible image usage across all our content to enable WGSN to achieve its editorial and commercial goals. You will also assist on a wide range of photography projects across the business.

Key accountabilities
  • To fulfil a variety of roles on the Picture Desk when required to ensure the best possible images are used correctly across WGSN content.
  • Assist in the smooth running of the picture desk email account, monitoring requests and ensuring the picture design process runs smoothly.
  • Assist the department in building a range of sources for images to meet WGSN’s global editorial needs.
  • Ensuring correct tagging, caption details are added when required
  • Help catalogue new picture sources, from PRs across all industries to independent photographers, design studios, agencies and designers.
  • Assist with managing the Picture Desk workspace resource for the content team.
  • Assist the Picture Editor on processing the paperwork required for securing usage rights for images from picture agencies and individual creators.
  • Be proactive about searching out interesting new image makers with whom WGSN may collaborate and researching photographic material from a variety of sources.
  • Assist on commissioning of proprietary images for WGSN.

  • Highly organised and efficient
  • Excellent communication and people skills with an ability to work with a diverse, global team,
  • working remotely
  • Enthusiastic about assisting in creating new processes and working systems
  • Good research abilities to determine excellent picture sources and potential collaborators
  • Able to talk and work with creatives and the numerate with ease
  • Able to work to deadlines with confidence
