About the role


Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for a Winter Maintenance Driver to join our Living Places business unit to work across Hereford.

Role Purpose:

  • Required to work within the revenue team on the Hereford Term Maintenance contract completing winter service operational activities; utilising knowledge and experience to ensure that all works are completed to the required Health, Safety and Quality standards;
  • Responsible for carrying out all aspects of Winter Maintenance works including driving a gritter and assist with plough mate duties during severe weather.

What you'll be doing


As a Winter Maintenance Driver you will:

Compliance:

  • Work within a culture of Zero Harm – embedding the 4 Golden Rules within all aspects of service delivery;
  • Report all observations – Close Calls and Good Practices;
  • Compliance with all statutory and company procedures across all the functions, specifically H & S;
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships across all teams.

Technical / Operations:

  • Carry out Winter Service duties as specified;
  • Ensure the work is completed right first time;
  • Utilise the effective deployment and use of plant, equipment or machinery.

Service Delivery:

  • Support the delivery of winter service provision;
  • Contribute to the overall profitability of the services providing through effective use of resources.

Customer Service:

  • Provide customer service in construction;
  • Be an ambassador for Balfour Beatty at all times.

Who we're looking for


The following qualities are essential:

  • Class 2 Licence;
  • CPC;
  • Good Communication skills.

The following experience is desirable:

  • Plant awareness;
  • Manual Handling.

The following Qualifications are desirable:

  • NRSWA;
  • First Aid;
  • CSCS;
  • Manual Handling;
  • Banksman;
  • NVQ Winter Service;
  • Telehandler.
