An Excellent opportunity for a Wiring Person to join a well-established company based in Romsey!
Full-Time: Permanent.
Reporting to: Manufacturing Manager.
Salary: Competitive Salary, Depending on Experience.
About The Role:
The Wiring Person is a support role for the electromechanical manufacture work centres. To make and provide wiring looms / Harnesses and electrical assemblies to assembly work centres as required by company job orders following wiring diagrams or samples.
Candidate Requirement:
Punctual and reliable. A can-do team player. A quick learner and physically fit, accurate and efficient with a keen eye for quality and pride in one’s work. Good command of the English language, written and verbal. Respectful of all work colleagues and management. Must be pleasant natured and able to integrate into a happy team environment. Must be numerate and able to perform material stock checks when required with accuracy. Must be flexible and willing to perform other reasonable duties within capabilities and learn new tasks that may assist the department and colleagues.
Preferably two or more years’ experience of working in a loom making wiring department within an engineering / manufacturing environment. Good work shop practices and an awareness of Health and Safety.
Experience of low voltage function testing as well as flash/earth continuity testing and pull testing
Technical Skills:
• Previous experience in a similar role would be a distinct advantage however training will be given to the successful candidate.
• Able to read and interpret electrical schematic drawings or manuals.
• Some soldering skills will be required.
• High level of care required including good dexterity with a good eye for detail and quality.
• Quick learner and keen to help improve processes.
• Must be able to differentiate colours correctly.
Role Responsibility:
To follow the instructions and training given. Carry out all tasks as requested in a timely manner and adhere to all Company policies not least the Health & Safety Policy. To maintain high quality standards. Machine maintenance checks, safety checks to manage risks.
• Support the Manufacturing Manager, Supervisors, Leading Hand and other employees to ensure good work flow through the work centre.
• Maintain good housekeeping, ensure that the work areas and equipment are clean, organized and safe.
• Fully support lean manufacturing principles / processes.
• Complying with health & safety, environmental and quality policy and requirements.
• Maintaining equipment maintenance and safety checks.
• To promote and conduct good Health & Safety practices and a duty of care for yourself and all others around you in line with the Company policy and ISO 45001 management system.
• Ensure that all work is clearly and correctly identified, has the correct accompanying paperwork/work cards and is completed using an electronic swipe or manually to ensure stock accuracy at all times.
• Produce work to the highest standard.
• Able to prioritise work and maintain weekly as required by the supervisor.
• Ensure that the first off inspection process is upheld using the correct item drawing and work processed in line with the Operator Quality Control Manual.
• Ensure correct PPE is worn at all times.
• Any reasonable requests.
