About the role:
The Development Management Team at Horsham District Council are offering 12 month placements as Graduate Planners to students or recent graduates of a planning related course.
As a Graduate Planner you will have the opportunity to contribute to the day-to-day work of the Development Management team through the processing of a variety of planning applications and carrying out other duties associated with the planning application process. Such duties include dealing with householder pre- application enquiries, planning history requests, duty phone calls and determination of householder applications including the preparation of Officer reports and site visits.
About you:
A full current driving licence, with recent driving experience is essential for the role as you will be visiting development sites and attending meetings across the Horsham District. If you have a degree in a subject relevant to planning or working towards one, and you have a professional attitude, good communication skills and are capable of working on your own initiative to meet deadlines, then we can give you valuable practical planning Work Experience for your future career.
An understanding of town planning legislation together with experience of working in a local planning authority is not essential but would be an advantage.
