Job description

Hours; Full time (37 hrs per week, working 40 weeks per year)

 About the Role

The Work Placement Officer is a new role to the RNN Group in which you will play a leading role in sourcing, developing and matching learners with high quality industry placement to complement our T-Level Curriculum. Learners on T-Level courses will be expected to complete a minimum of 315 hours industry experience within the duration of their course.

As a Work Placement Officer, you will support students to manage their placements and act as a coordinator between employers and the college. You will establish good relationships with local employers, ensuring our learners have the best possible placement experiences available to enhance further their knowledge, skills and behaviours.

You will…

You will have experience of working within an educational environment, ideally within a Further Education/Post-16 environment. You will be working closely with Curriculum colleagues to devise an appropriate schedule of placements. You will be building relationships with employers, supporting learners and communicating to all stakeholders within the process.  You will be able to review placement providers in regard to providing a healthy and safe environment, and completing DBS checks as appropriate for learners.

You will have qualifications in English and Maths at Level 2 (GCSE) or equivalent, a Level 3 qualification in any subject and knowledge of the Health & Safety Act and HSE Standards. A Health & Safety qualification would be desirable. You will also be able to demonstrate good customer service skills and be able to work with respect and confidentiality. Access to your own vehicle and a full driving licence is advantageous.

The role of T-Level Work Placement Officer will work across all campus’s that offer T-Level Courses. You will report to the Student Support Team Leader and work closely with colleagues in the Student Support teams across all sites, in particular with other Work Placement Officers. You will also liaise with curriculum managers and tutors to devise an appropriate schedule of placements.
