We are currently looking for a Workforce Development Trainer to join our County Durham Drug and Alcohol Service team.


This is a varied and exciting role, one day you might be designing or delivering courses for Our Open Access programme which delivers evidenced-based training to a range of partnership agencies, to the next day delivering bespoke sessions for education establishments.


Focussing on Substance misuse and complex needs we deliver material that may be aimed at prevention, education, or promoting pathways into our recovery services. We work with some fantastic colleagues and together are all united in wanting to reduce the problems that substance misuse causes to families, friendships, workplaces and communities in County Durham.


Job duties may include:

  • Develop and utilise evaluation mechanisms to evidence the effectiveness, impact and quality of training and development resources and delivery.
  • Maintain robust records of training and development activity to produce comprehensive reports regarding performance and quality.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the service partnership to ensure training and development provision is integrated within the wider service offer and to maintain up-to date knowledge of service activity.
  • Promote and develop collaborative relationships between the service and community groups and stakeholders.
  • Deliver evidence based brief interventions to individuals, promoting a wider health promotion and prevention agenda.
