If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a Working Capital Manager for the European region at Kantar.
As the Working Capital Manager for Europe, you will be a crucial member of our finance team, reporting to the Regional Controller with a dotted line into the Group NWC Manager.
What you’ll be doing
- Accountability for Working Capital: You will be responsible for managing all trade and non-trade Working Capital positions, ensuring that Net Working Capital (NWC) remains neutral while sustaining a positive operating cash flow, even in the face of our growing revenues.
- Financial Reporting: Provide comprehensive monthly and ad hoc reporting and commentary on NWC balances and movements for management reporting across all countries and divisions.
- Payment Terms and Finance Solutions: Collaborate with the business on discussions regarding payment terms with clients, and provide support in assessing finance solutions.
- Cultivating a Cash-Aware Culture: Foster a cash-aware culture across Kantar through training, communications, policy setting, and the sharing of best practices.
- Process and System Development: Work closely with Regional, local, Shared Services, and the Group Net Working Capital Manager to develop processes and systems that align with Kantar's Global Working Capital Policy, promoting good Working Capital practices and insights.
- Targets Achievement: Be accountable for ensuring that the region and individual countries achieve their NWC targets as set by the organization.
- Collaboration and Support: Collaborate with the Group Net Working Capital Manager on month-end reporting, ad hoc reporting, commentary, and support any Working Capital projects across Europe.
- Continuous Improvement: Instil a culture of continuous improvement in the efficiency and effectiveness of resourcing, processes, and controls within the NWC function.
- Global Compliance: Ensure adherence to Global NWC rules and support the Group NWC Manager in identifying and driving opportunities to improve Working Capital through the cash forecasting process.
The skills & experience needed as European Net Working Capital Manager
Essential:
- Proven experience with cash flow and Working Capital.
- Demonstrated expertise in financial management, Working Capital, and accounting.
- Confidence in managing challenging situations and conflicts, with the ability to reach resolutions.
- Excellent analytical skills and financial acumen.
- Accountability and commitment to follow through on commitments, even in challenging circumstances.
- Professional Qualification: Over 3 years of post-qualification experience.
- Qualified Accountant with a degree-level education.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Fluency in English.
Desirable:
- Experience operating in a complex matrix environment, inspiring confidence centrally while collaborating effectively with local business units.
- Knowledge of factoring.
- Experience working in a similar industry or a project/contract-based organisation.
