An excellent opportunity for an experienced Workshop Supervisor to join a well-established Blinds & Curtains manufacturing company.
About The Role:
They offer a genuine service to high end residential and prime office clients, in workshop and onsite
The company design, manufacture, repair, and upgrade motorized blinds and curtains, installed in smart or regular homes and offices.
Looking for an easy-going person to join them within their independent small blinds company in Herne Hill, which specialized in motorized blinds manufacturing, installation, and maintenance, repairs, made to measure electric and manual blinds/curtains. Their operations cover Greater London and sometimes they go outside of the border for commercial jobs.
They are a work hard play hard, sometimes working towards tight deadlines, sometimes doing very detailed jobs at a slow pace, their main goal is to create a pleasant working environment and also meet the various needs of their growing customer base by offering services at the highest standard.
They are looking for a new team member to join them and to be responsible for manufacturing different blind systems in the workshop, repairing motorized and manual blinds in the factory, and occasionally onsite
Candidate Requirements:
- Manufacturing manual and motorized blinds and repairing the different types of blinds in the workshop as per specifications.
- Ongoing checking of the stocks, fabrics, tools, work order statuses
- Assisting the sales department with technical help stock levels.
- Always looking for ways to improve operations and service, the workshop and the whole team's wellbeing.
- Occasionally assisting with bigger projects on-site or drive to customers as per daily diary and executing the required work orders which will include: fitting new blinds, on-site blinds repairs, collecting and delivering on occasion, surveys, and fault findings.
Previous Working background:
They would like to hear from you if you’ve worked previously in any of these industries/roles or similar:
- Kitchen/ bespoke furniture fitting.
- Onsite installer of various electrical or Air Conditioning installations.
- various construction trades/ sites, reading drawings and schedules.
- Carpentry / soft furnishing / construction trades.
Skills:
- Dexterous with hands and mechanical solving skills.
- Fast learner / good understanding of how things work.
- Impeccable customer service skills.
- Fast learner and able to work under their own initiative.
- Friendly, easy-going person, who enjoys an active work environment and takes pride in their work with Customer relation management.
- Confident in using power and hand tools, hardware fixings.
- Taking accurate measurements, visualising future products in current environment.
- Ability to quickly understand how various mechanisms work.
- Attention to details - working with bespoke products (fabrics, hardware, motors).
- Good time management.
- Ability to take initiative, find and share best practices.
Nice to have skills (optional, but would command a higher salary): previous exposure to the blinds and curtains industry.
Benefits:
- Salary: £11 - £16 / hour depending on experience, skills, and attitude, open for growth. Training and accommodation period allowed for.
- Annual leave: 21 days plus Bank Holidays.
