JC42 – Workshop Engineer
Location – Avonmouth
Salary – Up to £16.50 an hour DOE
Overview:
First Military Recruitment is working in partnership with our client to recruit a Workshop Engineer in Avonmouth.
The Workshop Engineer will be responsible for the servicing and repair of our clients environmental municipal civil Limited’s (DGEMC) hire fleet equipment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Fault diagnosis, repair and routine maintenance of sweepers and other Company equipment with minimal supervision, in a safe and economic manner, employing such skills and knowledge as are required at minimum cost to the Company.
- Ensuring that all routine maintenance or repair work is the subject of an accurate and timely written report including details of parts used and time taken on a work record card.
- Carrying out vehicle inspections and MOT checks, delivering vehicles to MOT test stations.
- Ensuring that all tools and equipment used in the course of any such routine maintenance or repair work are maintained in a clean, tidy and safe condition.
- Ensuring that all work engineering areas at Brighouse are kept clean, tidy and safe at all times.
- Ensuring that safe working practices are observed at all times, in accordance with Company policy, legislation and as instructed by the Operations Manager.
- Reporting defective tools or workshop equipment to the Workshop Manager immediately.
- Examining sweepers and other Company equipment and report verbally or in writing regarding their condition.
- The security of assets under their control.
- Assisting the rental operations department, ensuring weekly stock checks of all hire fleet assets not on rent, as required.
Skills and Experience:
- Mechanical engineering qualification. (Desirable, not Essential).
- HGV experience or knowledge. (Desirable).
- Knowledge of Hydraulics Systems. (Desirable).
- Previous experience in a similar role. (Essential).
