Job description

Daniel Owen are pleased to be working with a large key player within the south for all things vehicle servicing, based in Salisbury, Wiltshire we are looking for Workshop Managers/Controllers to join and oversee a team of experienced and motivated technicians.

Responsibilities:

  • Operational Management:

    Supervise and coordinate daily activities within the automotive workshop.
  • Develop and implement efficient workflow processes to optimize productivity and meet service deadlines.
  • Oversee vehicle diagnosis, repair, and maintenance processes, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
  • Team Leadership:

    Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of automotive technicians and support staff.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and identify opportunities for skill development.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that promotes teamwork and continuous improvement.
  • Customer Service:

    Interact with customers to understand their automotive service needs and provide clear explanations of required repairs and associated costs.
  • Address customer inquiries and concerns promptly, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Implement customer service initiatives to enhance the overall customer experience.
  • Inventory and Resource Management:

    Manage inventory levels, order parts, and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure timely availability of required materials.
  • Monitor and control workshop expenses, keeping costs within budgetary constraints.
  • Optimize the utilization of equipment and resources to maximize efficiency.
  • Quality Assurance:

    Enforce quality control measures to ensure all automotive repairs meet or exceed industry standards.
  • Implement and monitor safety protocols to create a secure working environment for both employees and customers.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as an Automotive Workshop Manager or a similar role.
  • In-depth knowledge of automotive systems, diagnostics, and repair techniques.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Customer-focused mindset with effective communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with automotive industry trends and technologies.
  • Technical background in automotive repair is preferred.
  • Relevant certifications or qualifications in automotive management or a related field.
