Salary: £12.75 per hour
Job Details: Temporary to permanent
Location: Oxford, Oxfordshire
Hours: Monday to Friday (07.30am – 4.30pm)
Start Date: ASAP
About the Role: As a Workshop Plant Mechanic (Fitter) you will be responsible for servicing and maintaining various plant equipment. Your duties will include diagnosing faults, conducting repairs, updating service records, and ensuring the equipment is in top-notch condition.
You'll be working under the guidance of the Workshop Foreman/General Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose faults and repair/maintain a variety of plant equipment, including compressors, mini-excavators, dumpers, and small tools.
- Check and tag all equipment, updating service records accordingly.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of products and accessories.
- Complete all test certificates and associated paperwork.
- Adhere to customer Health & Safety rules on-site.
- Keep the workshop and provided vehicle organised, clean, and tidy.
- Assist with general workshop duties as needed.
- Carry out other reasonable duties as deemed necessary by the Foreman or General Manager.
Key Skills:
- Essential experience in contractor's plant maintenance.
- CITB/NVQ qualification is preferable.
- Driving license essential (advantageous if workshop fitter only).
