About Gateshead College

If you’re looking for an opportunity to help shape lives in an organisation where you’ll feel valued, we’d love to hear from you. At Gateshead College we deliver an industry inspired education that combines high quality learning with real world skills, something we call education with employment edge. We want to recruit people who share our passion for helping people, whatever their age, background or starting point to develop the confidence, personal and professional skills they need to be successful in work and life. We’re looking for people who believe hard work wins, who are ambitious for themselves and those around them and who have the courage to give new things a go.

In return for everything you can bring, we can offer a values-driven organisation full of people who think you should enjoy your job. You’ll be listened to and have opportunities to make an impact, your work life balance will be respected, and you’ll be encouraged to work collaboratively with colleagues and those in the wider community. Our inclusive culture means you can be yourself and our commitment to being a resilient and sustainable organisation means we always try to do business the right way. We invest in and support skills development. For teachers this includes access to our Teacher Academy where you’ll be assigned a coach to help develop your practice and attend an annual conference to share best practice. For support staff it includes regular career conversations and a summer conference.

Whatever your role, everyone at Gateshead College has the opportunity to help our learners succeed. It is this clear purpose and shared effort that makes us such a great place to work.

Other benefits include:

  • 28 days holiday, leading to 33 days after 5 years service.
  • A career average pension with local government pension scheme.
  • A discount rewards scheme at a host of retailers exclusively for Gateshead College employees.
