SalaryOur client, a construction support business specialising in providing hardwood timber access mats for both sale and hire throughout the UK, are seeking a Yard Manager to join them in their Stratford-upon-Avon branch, due to continued growth. The Yard Manager will be responsible for; Running the day-to-day operations of the Yard, driving and operating the Fork Lift Trucks, Loading and offloading articulated vehicles, Sorting and cleaning of hire and used mats, Yard / Stock management, keeping on top of the day-to-day paperwork required for the operations. This is an excellent opportunity to join a fast-paced, growing company in a varied role with good long-term prospects.
Yard Manager Position Salary & Benefits
- Salary: £28k - £32k DOE
- Discretionary bonus (paid every year so far, circa 10%)
- Pension Scheme
- 25 days holiday per annum + Bank Holidays
- Full time role Monday - Friday 8.30am - 4.30pm
- Location: Stratford-upon- Avon (office based)
Yard Manager Position Overview
- Running the day-to-day operations of the Yard
- Driving and operating the Fork Lift Trucks (current license essential)
- Loading and offloading articulated vehicles
- Sorting and cleaning (manual) of hire and used mats
- Yard / Stock management
- Keeping on top of the day-to-day paperwork required for the operations
- Management of staff
- Health & Safety and security of the yard and machinery
Yard Manager Position Requirements
- At least 5 years' experience of Fork Lift Truck operations with current license
- Current forklift licence is essential
- Evidence of previous experience working in a similar role
- Exceptional organisation skills
- Be a good communicator both verbal and written (computers would be an advantage)
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members
- Current driving license
