Yard Supervisor

We require an experienced HGV Engineer and Yard Supervisor who can ensure our vehicles, trailers and demountable boxes are back on the road within the shortest time possible so that movement of vehicles maximises the efficiency of our distribution department. This shift runs from 12 noon until 10 p.m., Monday to Friday. Some weekend overtime may apply.

Responsibilities:

- Service, adjust and repair vehicles
- Inspect vehicles to ensure road worthiness
- Service boxes in line with service schedule
- Ad hoc repairs to ensure all vehicles are roadworthy
- VOR any vehicles not roadworthy and follow the DVCR process if not able to repair internally
- Prepare vehicles and boxes for loading to ensure smooth running of the despatch department. Maintain accurate records of yard operations
- Work with Transport Supervisor to ensure drivers and porters are adhering to Company rules.
- Enforce cleanliness and safety protocols and promote a culture of safety awareness

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: Up to £40,000.00 per year
