The Year End Accountant will play a pivotal role in ensuring the financial integrity and compliance of the Institution.
You'll lead the charge in financial accounting, external audit, and taxation, spearheading the successful delivery of annual financial statement audit. Your responsibilities will include preparing the Group Consolidation File, liaising with audit teams, and managing responses from both Finance and non-Finance departments. With your expertise, you'll minimise audit journals and management letter points while ensuring full compliance with IFRS, OfS, and other regulatory requirements.
As a key member of our the Finance management team, you'll collaborate closely with the Finance Director to support the strategic direction of the Institution. Beyond year-end accounting tasks, you'll contribute to the development of five-year plans and play a crucial role in safeguarding the organisation's financial position.
With a keen eye for detail and commitment to excellence, you'll review month-end revenue recognition and balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring all technical accounting aspects are covered. Additionally, you'll stay abreast of evolving accounting standards, updating policies as necessary and preparing detailed accounting papers for the Audit Committee.

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical accounting background, ideally with experience in practice auditing firms of c.£100m t/o+.
This role is being offered on an initial fixed term contract until the start of 2025 with a salary of c.£65,000.
