The role will lead a review of youth services including the commissioning of the youth grants programme, youth participation, youth advocacy and independent visiting. Your primary responsibilities will include driving the development and implementation of strategies related to Integrated Youth Support, as well as facilitating the joined-up development and delivery of universal and targeted youth services.
The successful candidate will engage, inspire and motivate partners and staff to ensure the needs of young people in the city are met through youth provision.
The key responsibilities for the successful candidate are:
- To lead and manage strategic initiatives related to integrated youth support, working closely with various agencies and stakeholders.
- To collaborate with partners within the Family Hubs Service and across private, voluntary and community sector to develop and implement strategies for the delivery of universal and targeted youth services.
- To take the strategic lead for commissioning arrangements within the Family Hubs Service, ensuring the effective allocation of resources to youth services.
- To oversee the development and implementation of youth programs and projects linked to the Family Hubs Service delivery and development.
- To have responsibility for commissioning youth work provision, managing and reporting on performance and collaborating with youth work providers, young people and members to ensure a co-ordinated, informed work programme is in place that young people value.
- To provide leadership and support to staff involved in youth service delivery, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
The post holder will need:
- To be educated to degree level or have equivalent experience.
- Significant experience at a senior management level in the context of services for children, young people and families.
- Significant evidence of leadership experience in the development of strategic partnership working and engagement across organisations and sectors.
- Strong understanding of the needs and challenges facing young people and families, as well as the ability to develop and deliver responsive services.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective partnerships and work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
- Commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of service delivery.
Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is less than 37 hours or term-time only.

Team and service working arrangements are designed to support both employee work life balance and team collaboration. These would be part of your individual working arrangements alongside any personal preference agreed with your manager in advance of joining.
Working arrangements are subject to Government guidance at the time. Your contractual location will be the designated council office for your team and travel to and from your contractual location would be at your own expense.
