Your role: 

An exciting opportunity has arisen to lead the youth participation work within the #BeeWell programme team in Greater Manchester.#BeeWell is a youth-centred programme that is making the wellbeing of young people everybody’s business. We are committed to LISTEN to the voices of young people, ACT for change with our partners and CELEBRATE young people’s wellbeing. 

In this role you will be responsible for championing youth participation across the #BeeWell programme, and will work closely with partners, schools, and young people to co-create youth centred responses to the #BeeWell survey findings. The role holder will collaborate with colleagues across the GMCA (Greater Manchester Combined Authority), The University of Manchester, Anna Freud Centre, The Gregson Family Foundation and the #BeeWell Coalition of partners to make young people’s wellbeing, everybody’s business.

The Youth Co-Creation Lead will coordinate our #BeeWell Youth Steering Group and work with other youth groups to develop youth-led narratives that enhances our work and improves the lives of young people in Greater Manchester. The job-holder will pro-actively link #BeeWell and youth-participation into key strands of youth voice work in Greater Manchester, particularly focussing on the Lundy Model of Participation.

The Co-Creation Lead will ensure the programme listens and responds to young people, particularly those who are often left out of conversations around Mental Health and Wellbeing. Our mission is to make Young People’s wellbeing everybody’s business and to ensure that young people are at the heart of influencing changes in policy and practice.

About you: 

We are looking for someone who understands and has a passion for young people’s wellbeing, along with experience of working directly with young people using participatory approaches. You will be an advocate for youth voice with experience of facilitating online and in person sessions with young people.

You will be experienced in working in a complex partnership environment and championing the views of young people with stakeholders.

You will have a strong understanding of safeguarding and experience of supporting teams to adhere to policies as well as supporting risk assessments and session planning for youth sessions and events.

Ideally, you’ll understand the inequalities experienced by young people that affect their wellbeing and support the #BeeWell ambition to reduce them by involving them in the conversation.
