Job description

MAIN JOB SUMMARY:

To mentor and support young people in their schools and on their estates that are on the edge of school exclusion, mental health issues or Serious Youth Violence through 1-2-1’s, after school and positive activities and holiday programmes.

This role is being performed well when:

  1. The young people engage in the mentoring process and choose to make safe choices.
  2. The young people remain in education and have an improved attendance, behaviour and achievement.
  3. A programme of workshops, activities and residentials is developed to engage young people and move them from being service beneficiaries to service deliverers.
  4. You develop a positive reputation with the young people, parents, schools and the community on the estates we work on.
  5. Information, advice and guidance is provided to young people.
  6. Parents, schools and other professionals are engaged to provide the best support team for the young people.
  7. All young people engaged continue in the programme and attend all the mentoring sessions.
  8. All paperwork is collated and evidence is collected on time and in line with our funders requirements.
  9. The schools we work with are willing to buy additional LifeLine services.
  10. All activities reflect the standards and values of LifeLine.
  11.  Other staff are assisted with the delivery of other programmes as and when needed.

Please note the above mentioned duties are not exhaustive and the post holder may be required by management to carry reasonable duties in line with the role.

The post holder will be consulted by LifeLine on any material compulsory changes to the Job Description.
