Scale 5, points 12-17

17.50 hours per week - Term Time only

Required;  As soon a possible

We seek to appoint a part-time (17.5 hours a week) Youth Engagement Co-Ordinator to work term time with the youth community of Bewdley. The successful candidate will work both at the Bewdley Youth Hub & at The Bewdley School with the local youth community, providing an engaging range of activities. The ideal candidate will be someone who has youth work experience or the relevant youth qualifications for this post. The role will involve managing and organising the Youth Hub to open 3 evenings a week, offering a diverse range of activities for the youth community between 5pm and 9pm. As well as engaging with other organisations and volunteers to run activities within the Hub, and completing the associated administration with the post.

The post would also include the option to provide lunchtime engagement activities with students for 1 hour per day (such as multi-skills, football etc.) However, this is negotiable with the successful candidate as to the number of days per week that are offered.

Given the substantial negative impact of the pandemic and its restrictions on the mental health of young people, there is an urgent need to enhance the youth provision in the town, to offer opportunities for social interaction and active participation. The key purpose is the delivery and development of a wide programme of diverse activities and projects for the young people of Bewdley, in partnership with Bewdley Youth Forum. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to work closely with our charitable partner, https://www.thewilliammillsfoundation.org/

We seek a colleague who has:

  • Exceptional energy and enthusiasm
  • Substantial leadership & organizational capacity
  • An understanding of youth development
  • The optimism to imagine a better future

This school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful candidate will undertake an Enhanced Disclosure via the DBS, where appropriate.
