Youth Engagement Officer – Children Services – Croydon Council
Salary: Grade 8 £37,443 - £39,264
Fixed Term (12m) – 36 hours per week

Job Purpose
The post holder will be expected to work flexibly across the Youth Engagement specialisms of youth voice, outreach and projects, early help and family support. They will assist planning of and contribute to the day to day delivery of locality based services that promote positive wellbeing, safety and education outcomes for children and young people.
Essential Requirements
We are looking for an experienced / appropriately qualified professional that is able to demonstrate their knowledge and experience of working with your people. You will have an understanding of how to engage with youth. You will have compassion and drive to effectively engage with social work professionals, supporting them to build relationships with young people and their families. Successful candidate will have:
Excellent engagement skills with children and young people
Experience of delivering high quality targeted services and interventions to children, young people and communities
Experience of producing high quality resources, including marketing materials
Ability to develop and maintain relationships with children and young people who may have complex needs
Ability to work flexibly across the specialisms of Youth Engagement – youth voice, outreach, projects and targeted support
Relevant qualification or comparable experience in the field of youth work/engagement, young people’s projects, programmes and targeted youth support An understanding of vulnerability, risk and needs of children and young people
Experience of supporting children, young people and communities teams through change
