Beacon Counselling is a registered charity that exsits to improve mental health and well-being for all.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join Beacon’s Children and Young People’s Team and be at the heart of supporting young people and empowering them to have a voice in mental health services.
We deliver emotional wellbeing support to children and young people to help increase emotional intelligence, normalise and validate emotions and build the resilience needed to manage these emotions
Working as a part of a team you will be responsible for the delivery of SHINE and SOS sessions
SHINE: Designed to develop your skills to support your own emotional wellbeing, build resilience and confidence, our SHINE service offers early intervention support to all 11-17 year olds in Stockport. We deliver a series of well-being workshops on the programme, providing the opportunity to meet other young people, gain new skills and explore your emotional well-being. The service also provides information, advice and guidance relating emotional wellbeing and signposting too.
SOS: We want young people to receive the best mental health services, and the best people to advise on this is young people themselves. The purpose of SOS is to improve the awareness and understanding of mental heath and wellbeing, to come up with solutions to help other young people and to Stamp Out Stigma surrounding mental health in children and young people. We host a variety of activities including the annual #SOS campaign and competition each year to mark #ChildrensMentalHealthWeek.
