Job description

Youth Offending Service Caseworker

We are looking for a committed, creative and resourceful Youth Justice Service Worker who perform above expectation, to join this dynamic, forward-thinking service. We have a commitment to a Child First approach which includes being trauma informed and working systemically to improve the lives of the children we work with and wider community.  You will have a commitment to effective practice and experience of working with young people and their families. HMIP (2023) found us to have outstanding staff and an innovative service.

The role involves working with young people either at the early stages of their offending or those who have more entrenched behaviour to effect change in their lives. You will be well supported through individual line management supervision and access to team supervision. You will be responsible for undertaking assessments, preparing reports, representing the YJS in Court and delivering interventions with your colleagues in the Youth Justice Service and partners. Experience in the Youth Justice sector is desirable.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in close partnership with other agencies in both the criminal justice and social care fields.

We offer staff training and the opportunity to develop new approaches to working with young people within a friendly and progressive team.

Benefits of working for Royal Greenwich include:

  • Annual season ticket loan
  • Excellent pension scheme
  • Cycle to Work Scheme
  • GreenwichCard entitling you to discounts at local businesses.

Royal Borough of Greenwich is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
