The Role
As part of the company expansion of its young people’s wellbeing projects, we are looking for a Youth Participation Coordinator. This position is critical in championing, advocating for, and seamlessly integrating the voices of young people into their ongoing process of developing and implementing Youth Mental Health programmes across the Trust.
They aspire to have these voices embedded into the fabric of our service delivery, with a commitment to ensuring the comprehensive involvement of young people in shaping the design of Youth Mental Health initiatives.
The Youth Participation Coordinator will play a critical role in leading the implementation of innovative programmes, engaging activities, and impactful initiatives aimed at encouraging active participation and meaningful engagement among young people across a variety of mental health projects. Additionally, the role will oversee the delivery of peer-to-peer support initiatives. This dynamic position requires the engagement with young participants, ensuring that their unique perspectives serve as essential components in decision-making processes that shape the direction of our mental health programmes with existing and new Stakeholders/Funders.
Key Responsibilities
- Experience working with children and young people in a mental health setting.
- An understanding of providing and running peer support in 1-2-1 or group sessions to under 25s
- Experience or interest in championing the voice of the community.
- Knowledge and understanding of how young people access social media platforms.
- A full understanding of what it is like to grow up in London as a young person and the challenges they face.
