The School and Role 

We are seeking passionate Sports Coaches to support children in schools who are no longer in mainstream education. These students have faced significant behaviour, Social, Emotional and Mental Health Challenges and need strong, enthusiastic coaches to develop students' skills and passions. 

The Alternative Provisions that you will attend have small class sizes of around 6-10 students, you will have support from Teaching Assistants and Pastoral Managers in each setting to ensure that both you and the students are supported in full. The behaviour of the provisions is challenging, and you may have to restrain students and use de-escalation skills to reduce the risk of harm to students and staff.  

The desired Sports Coach will have; 

• A Sport or Coaching Qualification at a Level 3 or above.  

• Experiencecaring for Children and Adults with behavioural or Special Educational Needs.  

• A strong understanding and awareness of safeguarding is essential.  

• A background in therapeutic care or therapeutic practice would be desirable.  

• An Ability to work individually and take a proactive approach to student care and learning.
