Youth Support Worker
Location: Salford
Type: Full-time, Temp to Perm
Salary: £85 - £95 per day depending on experience.
Are you an experienced Support Worker with a background in handling Social, Emotional, and Mental Health challenges, Autism, and Complex Needs? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you in Salford.
In this role, you will be working on a 1:1 and small group basis with children and young people exhibiting challenging behaviour, Social Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) concerns, Autism, and those who have experienced the care system. As a Support Worker, you will implement individualised behaviour interventions and prioritise the safety of the child throughout your duties.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience managing challenging behaviour, preferably in an educational or alternative children's provision setting. This could include individuals with backgrounds as Support Workers, Youth Workers, ex-prison or security staff, Children's Residential Care Workers, or Teaching Assistants. We also welcome applications from Care Workers with social care backgrounds and those with personal experiences relevant to the role.
Key Requirements for the Ideal Candidate:
- Previous experience managing challenging behavior in groups or on a 1:1 basis
- Experience working with children, young people, or young adults with mental health requirements, challenging behavior, or Autism
- Immediate availability
- Clear Enhanced DBS (Child Workforce/Child and Adult Workforce) registered to the Update Service. If you don't have a DBS, we can assist you in applying for one.
- Full-time availability, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm (Non-negotiable)
