PROGRAMMING MANAGER - YOUTUBE

With Hybrid and flexible working offered

Based in the heart of Shoreditch, we are an award winning digital content agency and media network who are currently on the lookout for a Programming Manager to join our Network Team.

The Programming Manager takes on the responsibility for leading a substantial portfolio of channels and brands within a genre pod. They have a full and detailed grasp of all aspects of channel management and are able to work autonomously to deliver the business goals, as well as contribute to wider strategic development with the division’s senior management team. They require a deep and detailed knowledge of YouTube as a platform and will take full responsibility of the individual channel brands within their group, reporting into the Executive Editor, Documentaries, Nature & Scripted.

HOW YOU'LL SPEND YOUR TIME

  • Supervise all output within the channel group to ensure it meets quality, brand and compliance standards. This output will include video, audio, image and text based content on YouTube, whilst also working with relevant Social Media Managers to support output on Facebook, Instagram & TikTok.

  • Utilise analytics and insights (both your own and those provided by your team and Little Dot Insights) to generate actionable changes in output and drive increases in viewing across all channels.

  • Ensure strong month on month growth in key YouTube channel metrics - including increased viewing, watch time, subscribers and revenue,

  • Grow our channels’ presence, building up share of voice and brand awareness and explore ways to grow new revenue opportunities on YouTube and emerging platforms.

  • Ideate and launch new channels on a regular basis, responding to changing platform priorities and market patterns.

  • Manage a team of Senior Content Managers and Content Managers and collaborate closely with the Executive Editor to ensure a high level of team morale, output and efficiency.

  • Work with the Head of Network Operations & Operations Executive to streamline working practices and ensure output is efficiently managed and maintained at required rates.

  • Work closely with the Director of Acquisitions & Partnerships to ensure a steady pipeline of content, providing them with data and insights to support content requests for relevant brands.

  • Assist the Head of Network Operations with hiring new staff, including creating job specs, conducting interviews and onboarding new starters.

  • Take on an additional cross-Network area of strategic responsibility (to be decided based on candidate skill set and business needs).


WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

Skills matter, experience is useful, attitude is everything.

  • In-depth knowledge of YouTube in all aspects of channel management, as well as experience with analytics and the YouTube CMS
  • In depth knowledge of content monetisation with demonstrable skills in generating new revenue opportunities in varying market conditions.
  • Experience with both researching and presenting decks to senior members of staff regarding brand performance
  • Proven ability to deliver high level strategic insights into platforms and trends which have had a measurable and substantial impact on performance
  • People management skills when it comes to team members with varying levels of seniority and experience
  • Proven ability as a team leader
  • Strategic innovation and thought leadership, looking beyond day to day duties
  • An ability to represent the company externally without senior management support, such as attending meetings with senior figures at a platform such as YouTube
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Exceptional time and project management with the ability to prioritise and delegate independently
