Do you have experience helping students with SEMH and associated needs?
Starfyn Education are working with an Alternative Provision that covers Kingston, New Malden and Surbiton. The Provision supports primary and secondary aged pupils that have been excluded from school or that are awaiting a placement in a Special Needs setting.
In this role, you will be working on a one to one basis, or in small groups with pupils that have SEMH and ASD needs. This maybe in Education settings or other venues – such as youth clubs, libraries or at the home of the pupil.
Due to the nature and the complexities that are attached to each referral we are unable to go into specific details on each role open.
The Alternative Provision are looking for people to start as soon as possible.
SEN Tutor – (could be HLTA or teacher)
Experienced tutor confident in delivering 1:1 or small groups Confident working independently in the home or other venues Ability to connect with children and families effectively and build trusting relationships Excellent KS1/KS2/KS3 curriculum knowledge Ability to differentiate curriculum in a creative and bespoke manner Experience with and understanding of working with SEMH/SEN An undergraduate degree, and/or prior experience working alongside pupils with SEND Good general education levels in English and Maths Knowledge, keen interest or understanding of the range of different types of learning difficulties and disabilities (SEMH, ASC, challenging behaviour) Ability to adapt to a various working environments and students with differing abilities Practical approach to the needs of students with Learning Difficulties and Disabilities Good interpersonal and communication skill and a caring attitude Flexibility in terms of working patterns Starfyn Education are SEN Specialists, we only work with special needs schools, colleges and provisions.
