Job description

Grade UE07: £37,099 to £44,263 per annum (A revised salary range for this grade of £39,347 to £46,974 is planned to take effect from Spring 2024)
College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, School of Law.
Fixed Term Contract for three years - 1st August 2024 to 31st July 2027.
Full Time - 35 Hours Per Week.
We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic academic to join Edinburgh Law School as an Early Career Fellow in Private Law. This is a fixed term post available until the 31st July 2027. The successful candidate should have advanced subject knowledge of either family law or the law of obligations, and will have either completed a PhD (or be very close to completion) in Private Law or have equivalent professional experience.
You will be expected to develop and execute a realistic and achievable research plan, and to play a full part in the collegiate life of the subject area and the Edinburgh Law School.
The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to promoting the student experience and will contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and assessment in the Private Law subject area, in particular in family law or the law of obligations.
The School of Law strives to be a diverse and inclusive community. We particularly welcome applications from candidates belonging to groups that have been traditionally under-represented in the subject.
As well as a CV and cover letter, candidates are required to upload an outline (maximum 2 pages) of their research plans as part of the application process. Candidates are also asked to identify their two strongest publications (which may include work under review or accepted but not published) and explain why - in their view - these publications are both original and significant (a form is provided to facilitate the completion of this step). Candidates who are shortlisted for interview will be asked to submit what they consider to be their two strongest publications where available.
