The Opportunity:
This post is full-time (35 hours per week). You would be assisting the Brain Bank Manager in the daily operation of the Medical Research Council (MRC) Edinburgh Brain Bank immunohistochemistry and histology laboratory.
Your skills and attributes for success:
Relevant work experience of relevant technical work.
Proven experience in immunohistochemistry, molecular techniques, Neuropathology techniques in order to provide a high quality service in line with brain banks requirements.
Clear understanding of Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) and ethical regulations related to the use of human tissue samples, the implications of non-compliance and the ability to devise and implement SPOs accordingly.
Ability to accurately complete and maintain records and reports accurately and perform daily quality control tests.
